Quie a way across the city, in St George's Square, Portsea - this is Millgate House, built in the 1960s, when it was, for a while, the tallest residential block in Portsmouth. Many residents of the little houses demolished in old Somerstown were moved here, including my own grandparents, who lived on the sixth floor.
My gran's friend lived on the very top - and as a kid, my little sister used to go up there, to see the water in the toilet moving back and forth, as the building swayed with the wind - mind you, that was in the days before Nintendo and X-Box, so don't be too hard on her!
